Generating filler text in Microsoft Word

By admin | March 14, 2009

If you ever need some filter text that actually will pass spell check (which lorem ipsum does not do, because it is in Latin and not English). This trick works in all Microsoft Word versions and it generates English-validating filler text.

Filler text in Microsoft Word

  1. Place your cursor where you want your free English filter text to appear.
  2. Type in (as it is, without quotes): “=rand(X,Y)” where X is the number of paragraphs and Y is the number of sentences per paragraph.
  3. Save your filler text document.
